PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY
A visual celebration of individuality – from the first year’s portrait through every milestone of life.
"We are not here to fit in...we are here to be eccentric, different, perhaps strange, perhaps merely to add our small piece, our little clunky, chunky selves, to the great mosaic of being...we are here to become more and more ourselves."
James Hollis
Imagine living in an unfiltered world, one where you could hang a portrait of yourself on the wall without feeling vain. A reality where self-expression, authenticity, and personal pride are embraced as an act of celebrating your existence, your journey, and your identity. Imagine that portrait celebrated all of your weirdness, all of your normal and was still exquisitely crafted and brought to life on the very best legacy products on the market today – one that doesn’t minimise who you are.
What would that look like?
The Signature Portrait Session is unlimited and my very favourite service to offer. Holding a safe, judgement free space for someone to truly be themselves results in beautiful portrait photography that’s deeply personal to my sitter (and I LOVE that!). I only offer one of these types sessions a day, so there’s plenty of time and you’ll never feel rushed.

The Experience: Step by Step
Step 1: Book Your Photoshoot
Book in for your session above. Once you have done that, I will be in touch over email with some e-work that includes a contract and a short questionnaire that helps me to understand what you are hoping to get out of your portrait experience. I’ll send you a Welcome Pack in the mail once those are complete.
Step 2: The Session
Over the years I’ve gone back and forth between scheduling pre-consultations and finding out something about you first , but I’ve realised that it doesn’t do anything beneficial for my work. So… unless we’ve already met, we’ll meet for the first time on the day of your session. That will be the first time I find out anything about you because I don’t want any preconceived notions of who you are. We’ll have a coffee and a chat to figure out what’s motivated you to book a session and together, we’ll go over the wardrobe options that you’ve bought with you.
The session is quite free flowing. Some people are very keen to move quickly and get things done and see results while others are much more relaxed and want to take time in the process, spending more time in the studio – I just adapt to that. As much as I have processes that enable me to do my best work, it’s important that I get an understanding of you too and figure out what works most effectively for you as an individual.
I’ll play music, your playlist or mine. We will laugh, chat and get to know each other more. I’ll provide snacks and water too, catering to all dietary needs.
The goal is authentic expression and as we move through the session, we’ll continually check the monitor so I can get a sense of what you like, what you don’t like and what you’re sensitive to. Somehow, organically, almost magically, we’ll know when you think you have enough looks to choose from. Being on camera is hard work, especially for people who don’t do it very often. It changes from person to person but sessions average out to between 1 1/2 and 3 hours. This is when we’ll stop, sit down and discuss your frames and their viability. If you’ve had enough for the day, we’ll schedule an in person ordering appointment a week later.
Step 3: In Person Ordering Appointment
This happens one week after your photoshoot and it’s a beautiful experience. It’s one thing to hire a professional photographer, it’s another thing to use the images as an art piece in your home or office.
Back in my studio you will really see your stunning photographs for the first time! You’ll be able to take time to select your favourites from your slide show. You are in control – you decide how to print your beautiful photographs with as much or as little guidance as you need. I can assist you with what size print will suit your wall space in your home and what product will match your decor.
Step 4: Collection
Approximately 4 weeks later your artwork will be ready to collect. This is not to be rushed. Breathe it in – as you hold your print for the first time, the anchor to the truth of who you are.
Step 5: Hang it!
A portrait can transform the way you feel about yourself. Everyone deserves a portrait of themselves that they love and are proud to hang on their walls and now you have yours. Love that!
